In a characteristic display of brutal hitting Will Russell tore into opposition bowling at Thriplow this weekend with a magnificent unbeaten 156.

Ashdon had set a pretty decent 219 but Thriplow openers Russell & Dabnor (48) were in no mood to hang around. The score had already reached 170 when Dabnor fell agonisingly close to his half-century, with Russell powering on to complete the job and in doing so coming close to his own club record score set last year!
