This Saturday saw the inaugural game for the
Thriplow 4th XI as the club built on its successful junior section by launching a development team in the Minor League. For a small village club this is a tremendous achievement and reflects the efforts of the junior coaching team in encouraging the U13s and U14s to step up into adult cricket. Whilst the game ended in defeat it was a creditable performance with the youthful exuberance of the fielding limiting a strong Weston Colville 2s side to 175-4. In response the few old heads helped the Thriplow score to 109.
The game also demonstrated Thriplow‘s ladies cricket focus as the team included two father-daughter combinations. Rick and Trinity Hales opened the bowling and Chris and Lara Neild the batting – surely some sort of record!
