After a lengthy period of consultation, design review and planning consents, the club has finally received official planning permission from South Cambridgeshire District Council for the demolition of the current pavilion, which has stood in its present position for more than 35 years.

Now begins the task of the raising the substantial sum required to build its replacement. In this, we have priority support from Cambs Cricket Board and this support should in turn hopefully open more doors when it comes to applying for grants from charities and other bodies. There is no precise time-scale but it is hoped to begin construction immediately after the 2014 season.

The design has had several iterations and is the work of our adviser, Rob Clark from Westridge Property Consultants, who is also an official match ball sponsor. The detailed design may change slightly as time goes on but it currently  incorporates many features, both officially prescribed and aesthetic: changing rooms of a specific size and design to comply with ECB requirements; sufficient toilet and shower capacity for both players and spectators; separate facilities for umpires; separate facilities for women and baby changing; disabled access; a large kitchen and storage; club lounge and eating area, with front folding doors to open onto the spectators' verandah.
