Here's the official ECB update
As you are aware, last night Boris Johnson gave an address to share the shape of a plan to reopen various areas of society, that will apply to England from Wednesday, 13 May 2020. A list of these changes and subsequently, what people can and can’t do can be found here. In terms of guidance in relation to COVID-19 restrictions in Wales, this remains unchanged and can be found here. The Welsh Government has said it will next review its guidance on May 28 2020. Additionally, the government has provided further detail this afternoon and we want to understand the full implications of this, prior to making any formal decisions or recommendations on behalf of the game. It is important to note that all guidance around social distancing remains in place.
We are working closely with the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport, Welsh Government, Sport England and Sport Wales on providing further guidance on what this means specifically for the use of cricket clubs, their facilities and coaches. We are also looking at what future plans for both recreational cricket and cricket behind closed doors could look like, as we move to Step Two and Step Three, as and when the Government advice allows.
As such, all recreational cricket across England and Wales remains suspended until further notice, this includes practise/training – however, we will endeavour to provide a further update as soon as possible.
I appreciate that there is huge appetite to get cricket played across England and Wales as soon as possible, but the health and safety of the general public and cricket family remains our primary concern. I thank you in advance for your patience at this time of uncertainty.
