Thriplow Junior Cricket season 2017
The annual presentation afternoon held in Fowlmere Village Hall on Sunday July 30th saw many of the young cricketers and their families enjoying some impromptu games and a massive cricket tea whilst listening to the coaches' summaries of the season and presentation of the awards.
This year we had 132 children registered to play cricket and we entered 6 teams into the Cambridgeshire Youth Cricket Association Leagues. With the glorious summer we have had, we managed to get most games played and whilst we did not gain any shields this year, we finished respectably in each of the league tables e finished the season as league champions at u11 and u12.
We are also very proud of our Lady Taverner’s girls squad also managed to get through to the regional finals of the national girls cricket tournament. As always, all the teams competed with the true spirit of cricket and victories were celebrated and the positive points were found in defeat!
